Beulah A. Wittmer - October 15, 2004

Beulah A. Wittmer, 81, of Chillicothe, formerly of Peoria Heights, mother of a Minonk woman, died at 2 a.m. Friday (Oct. 15, 2004) at her home.

Her service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria, Rev. Frank Valente officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Methodist Hospice.

She was born Jan. 24, 1923, in Peoria, to Frederick H. and Leona Pearl (Monjar) Hoffman. She married Lester K. "Pete" Wittmer on Feb. 13, 1940, in Missouri. He passed away on May 22, 1986, in Chillicothe. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William H. Hoffman.

She is survived by three daughters, Lita Jones, Peoria; Donna (Richard) Thomas, Minonk; and Dori (Tom) Hutchison, Saginaw, Mich.; four sons, Joseph (Sally) Wittmer, Pearland, Texas; James (Ann) Wittmer, Peoria; Dale (Sue) Wittmer, Carbondale; and Samuel (Robin) Wittmer, Forest Lake, Minn.; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Futhey, Naples, Fla.; and one brother, Phillip (Esther) Hoffman, Marion, Ind.

Beulah was a former member of Peoria Heights Congregational Church and former secretary at Monroe Ave. School in Peoria Heights. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, embroidering and crocheting.
